Quick summary
Website design is the process of planning, creating and launching a website that looks professional, works on all devices and generates enquiries. A well-designed business website typically costs between £995 and £4,995+ depending on features, and should be live within 2–4 weeks.
Website Design, The end-to-end process of building a website, including layout, visual design, copywriting, development, testing and launch, so that it communicates a business's value, builds trust with visitors and converts them into enquiries or customers.
Your website is the first impression most people will have of your business. It needs to look professional, load quickly, work flawlessly on mobile and guide visitors toward taking action, whether that's making an enquiry, booking a call or buying a product.
At BuzzBytes, we design and build websites that do all of that and more. We don't just create something that looks nice. We build websites that work as hard as you do, generating enquiries, building trust and supporting your business goals day in, day out.
Whether you're starting from scratch, upgrading from a template builder or replacing a website that's simply past its best, we'll help you create something that genuinely moves the needle for your business.
What Makes a Great Business Website?
A great business website isn't just about aesthetics. It's about performance, clarity and purpose. The most beautiful website in the world is useless if it takes six seconds to load, confuses visitors or fails to guide them toward getting in touch.
At BuzzBytes, we focus on the things that actually matter to your business, the things that turn visitors into enquiries and enquiries into customers.
Our Website Design Process
Step 1
We've refined our website design process over years of working with businesses across construction, care, engineering, professional services and education. Here's what you can expect when you work with BuzzBytes.
Step 2
Discovery, We start by understanding your business, your customers, your goals and your competitors. We'll talk about what's working (and what isn't) with your current website, what you want to achieve and what success looks like for you. This is the most important part of the process, because everything else builds on it.
Step 3
Planning, Next, we plan the structure of your website, the pages you need, how they connect, what each page needs to achieve and how the customer journey flows from landing page to enquiry. This is where strategy meets design.
Step 4
Design, We create the visual design for your website, aligned with your brand and built around your content. You'll see mockups and prototypes before we build anything, so you know exactly what you're getting.
Step 5
Development, Our team builds your website using modern, fast and secure technology. Every site is tested across devices, browsers and screen sizes before it goes anywhere near a live domain.
Step 6
Launch, We handle the technical side of going live, domain connection, SSL, Google indexing, analytics setup and final testing. Your website goes live smoothly, with no nasty surprises.
Step 7
Post-launch, After launch, we're still here. We offer ongoing support, updates and improvements through our website maintenance packages, so your website keeps performing long after launch day.
What's Included in Every BuzzBytes Website
Every website we build, from our Starter package to our Pro systems, includes the fundamentals that matter. We don't believe in cutting corners or charging extra for things that should be standard.
Designing for Mobile First
Over 60% of all web traffic now comes from mobile devices. Google uses mobile-first indexing, which means it looks at the mobile version of your website first when deciding how to rank it. If your website doesn't work well on a phone, you're losing customers and search rankings.
Every BuzzBytes website is designed mobile-first. That doesn't mean we design a desktop version and then shrink it down, it means we start with the mobile experience and build up. We think about how a thumb navigates a menu, how text reads on a smaller screen, how forms work on a touch device and how fast your site loads on a 4G connection.
The result is a website that feels natural on every device, whether someone's browsing on a phone in their lunch break, a tablet on the sofa or a desktop in the office. If your current website wasn't built with mobile in mind, it might be time for a website redesign.
Conversion-Focused Design
A beautiful website that doesn't generate enquiries is just an expensive brochure. We design every page with a purpose, to guide visitors toward taking action.
Conversion-focused design means thinking about what you want visitors to do on each page and making it as easy as possible for them to do it. That might be filling in an enquiry form, calling your phone number, booking a consultation or downloading a resource.
We focus on clear, compelling calls to action placed where visitors naturally look. We design simple, frictionless forms that don't ask for unnecessary information. We position trust signals, testimonials, case studies, accreditations, where they build confidence. And we create page layouts that guide the eye toward the most important information.
If you're getting traffic but not enquiries, the problem is often conversion, not visibility. Our SEO services can help identify where visitors are dropping off and what to fix.
How Much Does a Website Cost?
We believe in transparent pricing. Here's what you can expect when you work with BuzzBytes.
Our Starter Website package begins at £995 + VAT and includes up to 5 pages, mobile responsive design, a contact form and basic SEO setup. It's perfect for new businesses or simple online presences.
Our Growth Website package starts at £2,495 + VAT and includes 10–15 pages, bespoke layouts, case studies, enquiry forms, SEO structure and CRM-ready forms. It's designed for businesses that want a website that actively generates enquiries.
Our Pro Website & Systems package starts at £4,995 + VAT and includes bespoke design, advanced features, AI assistant options, client portals, booking systems and CRM integrations. It's for businesses that need more than a brochure website.
What affects the cost? The number of pages, the complexity of features (like booking systems, portals or e-commerce), the amount of custom design work and the level of content writing you need from us. We also offer LaunchPad, a professional website for new businesses from just £300. You can see full details on our pricing page, or start the AI Website Planner to get a personalised recommendation.
How Long Does a Website Take to Build?
Timelines depend on the scope of your project, but here's a general guide. Starter websites typically take 1–2 weeks from kickoff to launch. Growth websites usually take 3–5 weeks, depending on the number of pages and the amount of content. Pro websites and custom systems take 6–10 weeks or more, depending on complexity.
What affects the timeline? The main factors are how quickly you can provide content (or approve our content writing), the number of revision rounds, and the complexity of features. We'll give you a clear timeline at the start of your project and keep you updated throughout.
What can you do to speed things up? Have your content ready (or let us write it for you), respond to feedback promptly, and have a clear idea of what you want to achieve. The biggest delay in any web project is usually waiting for content or feedback, not the build itself.

Southern Oak Joinery, Essex Manufacturer
Challenge: A joinery manufacturer in Essex had no online presence and relied entirely on word-of-mouth referrals. They needed a website that showcased their craftsmanship, attracted commercial enquiries and ranked on Google for local joinery searches.
Solution: We designed a custom 12-page website on the Growth package with a project gallery, SEO-optimised service pages (windows, doors, staircases, fitted furniture), an enquiry form that captures project details and a CMS for updating their portfolio. Professional photography was commissioned to match the quality of their work.
HomeStay UK, Care Provider
Challenge: A residential care provider needed a website that reassured families, communicated CQC compliance and captured referral enquiries from social workers, their previous site was a basic 3-page template that generated almost no enquiries.
Solution: We built a Growth package website with dedicated service pages for each care type, a families information section, staff recruitment portal, a CMS for updating care vacancies and a secure referral enquiry form. The warm, professional design builds trust from the first visit.
